Dr. Abdelwahab is a civil engineering researcher and a practitioner in the field of structural engineering. He is an expert at defining complex strength and fracture problems faced by the industry for structural and non-structural building materials such as concrete, steel, wood, adhesives, and fiber reinforced polymer composites.
After graduating with a bachelor of civil engineering from Cairo University and a brief period of independent practice as a civil engineer in Cairo, Egypt, Dr. Abdelwahab attended North Carolina State University where he obtained his master’s degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering, following completion, Dr. Abdelwahab moved to State College Pennsylvania where he attended the Pennsylvania State University as a doctoral candidate, earning a doctorate of philosophy in Civil and Environmental Engineering.
Currently, Dr. Abdelwahab is a Postdoctoral fellow in the department of Civil and Systems Engineering at Johns Hopkins University and an Associate Guest Researcher at a national research institution.
